My path to manual osteopathy began after a 12-year career in nursing, where I worked closely with orthopedic patients. During that time, I built a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and patient care, while developing a deep respect for the body's ability to adapt and recover.
I was drawn to osteopathy as a way to support healing more fully, combining clinical knowledge with a hands-on approach that considers the body as a whole. Wanting a comprehensive and principles-based education, I completed a four-year, 4,200-hour program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. This Type 1 program meets the highest international training standards recognized by the World Health Organization.
Through this training, I developed a strong understanding of classical osteopathic principles and how supporting structure and movement can help the body function more efficiently and heal more naturally.
In practice, I aim to create a calm, supportive space where care is tailored to each individual. My focus is on improving mobility, restoring balance, and helping the body move with greater ease, while recognizing how closely physical structure, movement, and overall well-being are connected.
Osteopathy is rooted in the understanding that the body is constantly adapting and functioning as a connected whole. When movement is restricted or balance is disrupted, it can affect how the body functions over time. Supporting the body's structure allows it to operate more efficiently and respond more effectively to the demands placed on it.
This approach is guided by the belief that the body has an inherent ability to regulate and heal when given the right conditions. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, treatment aims to address underlying patterns in a way that supports long-term function and resilience.
